Questions

Training questions

Why start strength training at 11 to 17?

These are the years when movement habits, posture and strength foundations get built. What a boy learns about his body now, he keeps for life. Most boys learn lifting from YouTube and the gym crowd: ego first, technique never. Here he is taught properly, form before load and progression before intensity. And a boy who shows up, works hard and sees himself get stronger carries that into school and home.

Is strength training safe for boys this age?

Yes, when it's supervised and programmed properly, which is exactly the point of a certified coach. Sports medicine bodies agree that structured, technique first resistance training is safe for youth and reduces injury risk in sport. Boys here learn movement quality before load, progress gradually, and never max out for show.

How are the two age groups different?

Ages 11 to 13, Foundation: bodyweight mastery and light, careful loading. Coordination, movement skill and the habit of training, built at the age it sticks.

Ages 14 to 17, Development: progressive strength training with real loads, earned through technique. Speed, power and the knowledge to run his own training one day.

How does a session run?

Movement prep (warm up, mobility and activation), a technique block on the day's lifts, often on film so he can see his own form, the main strength sets, tracked and supervised every rep, and a speed finisher with agility, sprints and competitive drills.

How is this different from a fitness class?

Small groups, so every boy is coached and every rep is watched. Certified, progressive programming that builds month over month instead of random workouts. Video review and honest coaching, with progress parents can see. And it is about health, discipline and character, not just burning energy.

My son has never lifted a weight. Is that a problem?

It's an advantage. No bad habits to unlearn. Every boy starts with movement and technique, and loads are earned. The 11 to 13 group in particular is built for beginners.

What does a typical week look like, and how do I enroll?

Weekly small group sessions in the Coppell / DFW area, with days and times set per group. Send the short form below and Coach Imran replies personally with the current schedule. Your son can try a session before you commit. Spots are limited on purpose: small groups are the product.

What is the Run Rocket, and is it safe?

It's a resisted sprint machine. The athlete wears a belt clipped to a strap that pays out from a flywheel as they run, so the resistance is smooth and the strap winds back in without snapping back. It trains exactly what decides most plays: the first few steps. Research shows resisted sprinting helps young athletes most in the first 10 meters (Li et al., Frontiers in Physiology, 2025). Every session starts light and every rep is coached. Anyone with a recent leg injury should be cleared by a doctor first.

How does an online form check work?

Send the form and Coach Imran replies within a day with what's included and how to pay by Zelle. Film from the side at about hip height, with the whole body in the frame, for 2 or 3 reps; a second clip from the front helps for squats and lunges. Share the clips as a link (YouTube unlisted, Google Drive or Dropbox). Your review comes back by email. Your footage stays private, is never posted without your written OK, and is deleted after 90 days. If a clip isn't usable we tell you within 2 business days: send a new one or ask for a full refund.

How do I pay?

By Zelle. After you send the form, Coach Imran replies with exactly what's included and the Zelle details.
